Elif Akgül is the Freedom of Speech editor at Independent Communication Network’s (BIA) news-portal project bianet.org run by IPS Communication Foundation-Turkey. BIA Project has been implementing and promoting rights- based journalism in Turkey since 2001. Elif studied Film and TV (BA) and still writing her dissertation on cyberspace at Istanbul Bilgi University Philosophy and Social Thought Masters Programme. Cyber issues, media, freedom of speech, genocide studies ana popculture are her main interest areas.
