Dataharvest/EIJC, the European Investigative and Data Journalism Conference organised by Journalismfund.eu, is the most relevant networking event for investigative and data journalists in Europe. Dataharvest/EIJC15 will take place on Friday 8, Saturday 9 and Sunday morning 10 May 2015, with a pre-conference Hackaton on Thursday 7 May. Like the previous years, the conference will take place in the centre of Brussels.
This is the introductory session to the two-day workshop Experience exchanges between investigative journalists and media freedom practitioners and experts, which brings together three networks of actors on Freedom of Expression: the investigative journalism community, the campaigning organizations, and the scholars researching use and abuse. The goal is to find new ways of cooperating between the networks; to find ways to connect and benefit from each other’s knowledge and experiences; and to explore which measures will best ensure the protection against threats to freedom of expression in Europe.
