Nerves of Steel: How the EU gave carte blanche to health poisoners

European environmental rules, designed to protect EU citizens health, are largely decided by the very industries they are supposed to regulate. This is the main conclusion of an exclusive investigation conducted by a cross-border team of journalists and enriched with contributions gathered from different users through the collaborative journalism platform MobileReporter.info. The Italian daily “La Repubblica” has published the first of a series of text, multimedia and data features. This time-consuming project aims, particularly, to reveal evidence and consequences of the "law-restyling" made by the steel industry behind the scene, at the cost of citizens health and money.
