The struggle to unveil killer bacteria MRSA

Multiresistant bacteria threaten us all: If we don’t do something drastic now, within few years we’ll not be able to cure a simple pneumonia with antibiotics. At the Dataharvest 2014 journalists decided to look into the matter and first stories have been published. But a huge health problem with very strong players interested in keeping information secret could not be solved within a year. In Finland a tv-documentary made a huge splash but a Wob request is still ongoing (using input from Denmark), in Germany first stories were published by two teams and in Denmark journalists in the field had to fight several court cases. Meet the teams and get involved: What has been done, how can experience and data be shared and how to proceed from here.
